Evaluation 30% Ruling Summer 2017

In the evaluation of the 30% ruling is concluded that the 30% ruling is an effective tool for attracting Expats, but that the benefits could be decreased a bit. They propose to sober the 30% ruling by one or more of the following changes:
1. Reducing the maximum duration period from 8 years to 5 years;
2. Expand the 150 km condition to countries in Northwest Europe, or even the entire EU;
3. Cap the 30% ruling to a maximum income;
4. Limit the 30% Ruling to only base salary. Bonus and Options will be excluded from the 30% Ruling;
5. Lower the percentage to 25%;
6. Make the percentage flexible, for example 35% in the first two years and 25% in other years;
7. Reinstall the specific expertise condition to replace the current income requirement;
8. Increase the income requirement.
It is now waiting for the politics and see if there will be any changes and if they follow any of the above proposed changes or not.
